Premature birth is one of the most important factors in neonatal morbidity and mortality. Based on the survey shows an increase in the incidence of premature birth at dr. H. Chasan Boesoirie hospital in 2015-2017. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the history of maternal complication and the incidence of premature birth at dr. H. Chasan Boesoirie hospital used an analytic correlation research design with a cross-sectional approach. The population is all multiparity and grand multiparity at dr. H. Chasan Boesoirie hospital on January-December 2018, the sampling technique used simple random sampling, with the total sample are 196 respondents. The results show that 66,3% do not have the history of maternal complication and 85,7% do not have an incidence of premature birth. Then, that were analyzed using Spearman-rank. The results show that p-value is 0,001 (p-value<α). The conclusion that there is a relationship between the history of maternal complication and the incidence of premature birth at dr. H. Chasan Boesoirie hospital. So, it is necessary to provide information and education to pregnant women in order to plan their pregnancy well and build a referral system with primary care facilities.
Background: The growth and development of children are two events that are different in nature but are related to one another. It is possible for people in downtown areas to experience easy internet access, so that everything cannot be separated from digital media. Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic like today, where children have to stay at home more, besides that learning is also done from home, so the screen time has increased. The goals of the research is to analyze the relationship between screen time among children with nutritional status and their development. Methods: The research design used cross sectional analysis. The population is all children aged 3-5 years in Kalumpang Village in November 2020 as many as 497 children, the number of samples is 84 children using purposive sampling technique. Results: Based on the spearman-rank statistical test, it is known that p-value = 0.002 (p-value α), which with the correlation coefficient (r) = 0.330 that the relationship between Screen time with nutritional status is in the low category and has a positive relationship direction, namely the higher the screen time, the higher the nutritional status. Meanwhile, based on the spearman-rank statistical test, it is known that p-value = 0.001 (p-value α), with the correlation coefficient (r) = 0.371 that the relationship between Screen time with development is in the low category and has a positive relationship direction, namely the higher the screen time, the development will deviate from age. Conclusion: There is a relationship between screen time and nutritional status and there is a relationship between screen time and children development. So it is very important to improve parental control behavior towards the use of electronic devices in children aged 3-5 years old.
Background : Indonesia is a country consisting of various tribes and cultures, each of which has a health tradition. some traditions have a bad effect on health but some have a positive impact on health. Bengkung is a long cloth about 10 meters long, used specifically to protect the mother's stomach after delivery. Its use begins after the 3rd to 40th day postpartum. Basically the benefit of the bengkung is to narrow the mother's movement so that her sitting position can be restrained. The purpose : of the study was to determine the effectiveness the use of bengkung on recovery in postpartum mothers based on a literature review. Method : This type of research is qualitative with literature review approach related to use of bengkung on recovery in postpartum mothers. The sources used in the electronic databases are Googlescholar, Researchgate, dan, Pubmed. The journals used in this study were published between 2015 and 2021, found 8 journals that met the inclusion criteria. Results : Analysis of the literature from eight journals found that the bengkung intervention was effective in the recovery of postpartum mothers including uterine involution, increasing milk production, reducing pain, and launching lochea expenditure and can be used as non-pharmacological therapy in the care of postpartum mothers. Conclusion, the use of jicama is effective for recovery in postpartum women. Recommendation : It is hoped that the use of Bengkung can be useful in the recovery of postpartum mothers when used with the correct technique.
Preparation for newborn care (BBL) is important throughout the duration of pregnancy, particularly in the third trimester of gestation. Handling BBL that is not good can be fatal because it will cause abnormalities that cause lifelong disability to death. The purpose of this research was to identify the effect of Newborn Baby Care Education on Mothers' Readiness to Independently Care for their babies at BPM Sifra Langowan. The research design was quasi-experimental with a control group pre-post test design that involved 20 subjectss in the experimental group and 20 subjectss in the control group using the purposive sampling technique. The research results showed that the mean readiness to care for newborn babies before the intervention in the experimental group was 2,85, and after the intervention was 1.30, with a mean difference of 1,15 and a P value of 0,000 (p-value<0,05). In the control group, the mean readiness to care for newborn babies before the intervention was 3,00, and after the intervention was 2,80, with a mean difference of 0,20 and a p-value of 0,042 (p-value<0,05). It could be concluded that there was an influence of having provided newborn baby care education on mothers' readiness to independently care for their babies.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
