The reliable reconstruction of cultural or historical heritage objects is an urgent problem for humanity. It can be successfully solved using up-to-date 3D modeling tools. The proposed technique allows for modeling virtual environments at an even higher level. This study aimed to develop an approach for designing historical heritage objects with sufficient accuracy using a built environment. The Kilburun Fortress was chosen as the object of study. The modeling procedure includes monitoring the object’s territory, analyzing archival, librarian, and cartographic sources, and further modeling and reproducing the research object in a virtual environment using various software tools. The following stages were implemented during this study: analysis and processing of preliminary data (analysis of plans and schemes, overlapping maps); the scaling of graphical objects for the reliable reproduction of the studied object; the design of a working 3D model using AutoCAD and SketchUp; the rendering and final processing of textures using Quixel; and visualization using Twinmotion. As a result, a model of the historical heritage object was created using 3D means. The model can also be integrated into ArchiCAD and Revit software.
Background: The expediency of the study lies in the need of the society to address the issue of improving the level of physical activity and health of the Ukrainians. To do this, it is necessary to rely on scientifically grounded ideas about the essence of sports and leisure complexes that meet the needs of the population. Therefore, the purpose of this work is to specify the meaning of the concept of "sports and leisure complex". Methods: To achieve the goal of the study, the following tasks are consistently solved: analysis of scientific works that cover various aspects of the formation and development of sports and leisure objects; exposure of the essence of the life processes that are localized in the structure of the studied objects; analysis of the conceptual and terminological apparatus used in the research of modern sports and leisure activities in related scientific domains; specification of the concept of "sports and leisure complex" in the architectural and town-planning sphere. Results: Analysis of the scientific literature and practical experience on the research topic proves that current trends in the society and sports development, as well as prospects for convergence of amateur and professional approach to sport necessitate the development of new approaches to architectural and urban organization of sports and leisure complexes. Conclusions: Sports and leisure complex is a special material and spatial formation of the urban environment, which meets the needs of citizens in realization of the creative potential and self-actualization of a person at leisure in the form of physical loading as well as recovery of physical, spiritual and intellectual, energy, psycho-emotional resources. Different forms of functional and spatial organization of sports and leisure complexes are determined by the dominant type of physical activity, the needs of users, town-planning conditions, the author's idea. These objects provide not only sports and recreation activities, but also informal social communication, which contributes to strengthening of urban communities.
The paper is dedicated to the problem of creating a network of public spaces in the downtown area of a major city as an effective means of its humanization. The goal of the work is to justify and develop a graphical model of the network of public spaces in the structure of the downtown area of a major city on example of Kharkiv. Analysis of the scientific works of foreign and domestic authors has shown that the issues relating to the formation of a spatially integrated network of public spaces have not been subjected to special scientific scrutiny. The use of the law of isomorphism of structures of urban planning systems suggested that a network of public spaces could have a linear-nodal spatial organization. It is shown that open public spaces are located along the streets and should be seen as part of the city’s communication framework. The placement of a significant variety of small public service elements on the first floors of the city center neighborhood development contributes to the formation of public spaces along the streets. These pedestrian spaces providing connections to subway stations are “linear” components of the network. The presence of open, undeveloped spaces in areas close to the entrances to subway stations creates attractive conditions for the formation of new types of public spaces. On the basis of analysis of placement of 8 subway stations in the structure of the downtown area of Kharkiv there was justified the assumption that it is their areas that are considered to be “nodal” elements of the networks of public spaces. In this way, a spatially integrated network of public spaces is created and presents an effective means of humanizing the urban environment as a whole. The study of the architectural and urban construction of the network of public spaces in the city structure led to the conclusion of the effectiveness of such a measure in social, economic and aesthetic aspects.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
