The modern world is changing rapidly under the influence of digital technologies. This also applies to the financial sector of the economy. Since the mid-2000s, new fintech companies have entered the market. These companies are using new technologies to improve existing and create new financial services. In the course of their development, the interests of new market entrants often overlap with those of traditional participants, mainly banks. Investigation of the relations between fintech companies and traditional financial institutions gives an opportunity to form an idea of the financial picture of the near future. The research of the relations between fintech companies and traditional financial institutions gives an opportunity to form an idea of the financial picture of the near future. The article considers both aspects of competition and aspects of possible cooperation between financial market participants in a digital economy. The results of the scientific research demonstrate that cooperation will prevail over the competition. Probably existing financial institutions will reformat their architecture and become digital ones at the core.
Purpose. Improvement of regression economic-mathematical models taking into account the influence of residual error as a random variable. Methodology. Methods of economic-mathematical modeling, regression analysis are used. The real conditional law of distribution of residual error as a complete characteristic of a random variable is applied. Findings. A scientific and practical approach to economic and mathematical modeling based on the study on residual error, to improve the construction of regression equations. Originality. For the first time, the application of residual error analysis as a random variable has been proposed in order to construct its conditional differential distribution function, which allows improving the quality of economic-mathematical modeling in the form of regression equations. The use of the proposed method of taking into account the residual error allows eliminating the negative impact of the violation of the conditions of the properties of the residual error in the implementation of economic and mathematical modeling using regression equations. Practical value. The analysis of the obtained results of economic-mathematical modeling of economic activity of Inhulets Mining and Processing Plant on significant statistical material with the use of the developed algorithm of residual error research confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed approach. It is recommended to include the developed algorithm taking into account the properties of the residual error in the practice of managing the financial activities of mining enterprises.
Investments in environmental protection are crucial for achieving the goals of building green economy. The purpose of the study is, firstly, to assess the state and trends of Ukrainian companies investments for environmental purposes; secondly, to identify the determinants of the impact on the volume of environmental protection investments; finally, to determine presence /absence of a link between environmental investments and financial performance of companies. The initial data for the study were obtained from published statistical reports for the period from 2010 till 2019. Methods of analysis for testing hypotheses are descriptive and correlation-regression ones. It was found out that the selected independent variables (belonging to environmentally damaging activities and revenue of the companies) are positively correlated with the volume of costs and investments in environmental protection of Ukrainian companies. However, for the independent variable “financial results” a negative correlation was obtained. The hypothesis of environmental investments positive impact on the financial profitability of companies has not been confirmed. Environmental policy in Ukraine concerning implementation of “green” growth strategy is defined as a reflective one due to a number of economic and political factors.
Innovation accelerates economic growth and becomes the key to success in the new post-industrial paradigm. The more innovation, the more a country's prosperity grows. Innovation is a risky and costly type of activity, so it requires significant financial resources attracted from different sources and by different methods. Traditionally, the entrepreneurial sector, which has sufficient amounts of various resources, is the most innovatively active. At the same time, the innovative activity of companies is under pressure from a number of factors. The purpose of the article is to analyze the factors influencing the innovative activity of industrial enterprises in Ukraine and to identify the relationship between the volume of innovation and economic growth of the country. For the analysis there were used the methods of descriptive, comparative and correlation and regression analysis. The sample is created at the basis of data from statistical reports on the research and development activities of economic entities in Ukraine for the period 2000-2019.It has been revealed that there is a steady decline in the number of workers in the innovation sphere in Ukraine, and compared to European countries, these indicators are much lower and tend to decrease further. This affects the place of Ukraine in the global ranking of innovation in a negative way. It is confirmed that there is a direct positive significant relationship between the costs of innovation and bank loans and foreign direct investment in the capital of Ukrainian companies, confirms the thesis of funding as a driver of innovation. It is confirmed for Ukrainian content that there is a positive relationship between innovation and economic growth.
