Makalah ini membincangkan kesedaran kebangsaan golongan rakyat di Tanah Melayu selepas Perang Dunia Kedua khususnya dengan kemunculan PKMM. Mereka menjadi satu gerakan yang dinamik dan tidak tertakluk kepada kerangka politik Melayu tradisional. PKMM dianggap sebagai golongan radikal dalam politik Tanah Melayu. Dengan menggunakan kaedah perpustakaan maklumat berkenaan gerakan kiri dan faktor yang mempengaruhi gerakan kesedaran ini dicerap dari dokumen, buku, akhbar, majalah serta artikel yang berkaitan. Sumber-sumber ini dianalisis untuk menghasilkan artikel ini. Hasil kajian memperlihatkan golongan nasionalis kiri Melayu berjuang untuk membela nasib masyarakat Melayu yang semakin jauh ketinggalan berbanding golongan imigran dan secara terbuka menuntut kemerdekaan. Kesedaran golongan ini banyak dipengaruhi oleh semangat yang dicetuskan oleh negara luar seperti India, Timur Tengah dan juga Indonesia di samping peranan akhbar. Secara ringkasnya pengaruh luar melahirkan kesedaran dalam kalangan masyarakat Melayu bahawa rakyat mempunyai kuasa dalam sistem pemerintahan di tanah air sendiri.

This paper seeks to reveal the roles, contributions and sacrifices that have been made by those labeled radicals in seeking independence. This study was completed by referring to historical documents such as British files and reports as well as personal records of those involved to confirm their involvement in the struggle for independence. The findings showed that the role of two great figures from Pahang, namely Ibrahim Haji Yaakub and Ishak haji Muhammad, was significant in the struggle for Malaysian independence. These forerunners of the struggle for independence have given a huge impact and meaning to Malaysia. Their deeds, contributions and sacrifices must be recognized by the nation.
In the history of Malaysia's politics, consensus is an approach adopted by all political parties. In order to obtain people's support, political co-operation is a norm between various political parties despite having different ideologies and goals. For the sake of the country's well-being, differences are set aside with the ultimate goal of getting a political mandate and power of government. In fact, political co-operation is adopted and prioritized even before independence, in the post-independence and in the new millennium. By analysing historical documents and political party files, this article wishes to unleash the history of political collaboration and co-operation undertaken by all political parties in Malaysia. Finally, political understanding and co-operation between political parties has been successful in ensuring that social harmony and national integration be achieved and also to ensure that a new Malaysia can be realized.
This article is intended to point out the involvement of the communist era during race riots that occurred on May 13, 1969. Majority of us Malaysians are not so exposed to the involvement of the communist and their agenda to create chaos and unrest in this country. The communists using racial incitement and influencing the public through the Labor Party and Left-wing Parties. This study was conducted primarily using qualitative methods and subjective chronology. The information obtained was taken and analyzed in the form of primary and secondary sources. Primary sources are composed of the Government White Paper, Command Paper, Hansard House of Commons, Leader's speeches, thesis, interviews, Majlis gerakan Negara (MAGERAN) reports, the Federal Budget Reports and documents of the Federal Constitution. While secondary sources are made up of scientific journals, books and reference information obtained from websites. The results portrait that there are a series of very clear involvement of the communist party before, during and after the riots until the 1970s. The focus of the communists is to create an atmosphere of chaos and tension between them which would indirectly weaken the national defense system. The government through the implementation of the administration under MAGERAN managed to curb the activities of communist control and stop the riots. Later the government took drastic measures, particularly to reduce the level difference between the racial and economic disparities by intensifying security measures in order to break the communist elements in the country.
The purpose of this research is to discover Al-Arqam accomplishments as a pioneer of nasyid in Malaysia starting from 1975 until 1997. Increasing awareness in practicing Islam as the way of life gave Al-Arqam the opportunity to establish the first nasyid group named Nada Murni. The appearance of this nasyid group has become one of the initiatives for the people to enjoy entertainment in accordance to Islamic values and principles. This research implemented qualitative approach by analysing primary and secondary source gained from Malaysian National Archives and the library. The findings suggested that Al-Arqam was the first local group to introduce nasyid as an entertainment in Malaysia and their approach developed interest and awareness about Islam into the Malay society. Consequently, Al-Arqam started to commercialise their group as one of their socioeconomic activity by establishing music production company under the surveillance of Al-Arqam department of culture. Besides, the government also played their role to support nasyid as an entertainment by using the mass media platforms such as Rancangan Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), radio dan organising nasyid competition. Unfortunately, nasyid entertainment in Malaysia reached its dispirited momentum when Al-Arqam was banned by the authorities, somehow gained their momentum back by establishing contemporary nasyid group and culture. Therefore, this research is conducted to ascertain the ingenuity of Al-Arqam in pioneering nasyid culture by establishing their very own nasyid group into the world of entertainment in Malaysia.
