The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of molasses as carbohydrate source and inoculums of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) incubated from PO cattle's rumen fluid on the quality of Napier grass (pennisetum purpureum) silages. The research was conducted at Gemawang village Jambu District Semarang Regency. Feed analysis was carried out in Laboratory Biochemical Nutrition, Animal Feed Science, Animal Science Faculty, Gadjah Mada University. This study was assigned into Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments and 3 replicated. The treatments were addition of molasses and LAB level into the Napier grass; 0, 1, 3 and 5% (w/w) and incubated for 30 days Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and the significant effect was tested by Duncan ,s Multiple Range Test. The results showed that the addition of 1 -5% molases significantly affected (P<0,05) lactic acid content, pH, and NH3 concentration. Increasing level of molases significantly (P<0,05) increased lactic acid content, decreased pH and NH3 concentration of Napier grass silage. However, among the treatment groups of 1, 3 and 5 % of molases was not significant (P<0,05) different on the lactic acid content, pH and NH3 concentration. Dry matter and organic matter content of Napier grass silage were not significantly (P<0,05) affected by treatments .
The effect of giving cassava meal and inoculums of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) incubated from PO cattles rumen fluid on the quality of napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum) have been done at Ujung ujung village Pabelan, the Semarang district. Analysis of nutritional value was carried out at the Biochemical Nutrition and Food laboratory, Animal Feed Science Faculty, Gadjah Mada University. The research used complete random design consisted of 4 kinds of treatment and 3 replications. There were; T0 = silage control, T1 = silage with cassava meal 1% and inoculum of lactic bacteria from PO cattles rumen fluid 106 cfu/g forages, T2 = silage with cassava meal 3% and inoculum of lactic bacteria from PO cattles fluid 106 cfu/g forage, T3 = silage with cassava meal 5% and inoculum of lactic bacteria from PO cattles fluid 106 cfu/g forages. The study parameters were lactic acid, pH, dry matter, crude protein, and crude fiber. To verify the effect of treatments, data analysis was continued with the Duncan Test. The results showed that the addition of cassava flour had a significant effect on LAB, pH, NH3 the crude protein and crude fiber. While on dry matter there was not a significant effect. The best treatment was napier grass silage with 5% of cassava meal.

The objective of this study was to study the effect of isolated lactic acid bacteria (BAL) addition on lactic acid production and pH of tofu waste and for improving the expired tofu waste industry. Inoculum from liquid media as starter was applied anaerobically for 0%; 5% and 10% and different incubation time were 0; 3; 6; 12; 24; 48 and 72 hours. Variabel measure in this study were lactic acid production and pH.The different level addition level of inoculum percentage applied in tofu waste improve expired date of tofu waste industry, and incubation time very significantly increase lactic acid production (P<0.01). As a conclusion of this study showed that 10% of inoculum and 24 hours incubation perform an optimum of tofu waste industry fermentation.
