The article focuses on the strategy of interaction of China with the Latin America. in the post-bipolar period (1991-2020). Special attention is paid to the changes in China’s strategy in the era of Xi Jinping. In this context, special emphasis is placed on the concept of the «community of the common destiny of mankind» proclaimed by the Chinese leadership in 2012. The article examines the substantive aspect of this concept, as well as reveals its significance for the assertion of China’s role in the region.
