Cyanohydroxycarbonylation of α-keto alkynes
in the presence of potassium ferrocyanide, carbon monoxide, and potassium cyanide in water, under moderate
reaction conditions of pressure and temperature, affords
unsaturated carboxylactams. The complex [FeII(CO)2(CN)4]2-, formed “in situ” from K4Fe(CN)6, appears to
be an active species in the reaction, and a plausible
mechanism was proposed for the formation of carboxylactams.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
