A new immunological technique for the dosage of fetal haemoglobin derived from Mancini’s immunodiffusion technique is described. Results obtained by the immunological dosage are compared with those of the Singer test (alkali dénaturation technique). In the second part of the study, the two dosages are applied in parallel to infants from birth to 24 months of age to study the decrease of fetal haemoglobin with age.
