Abstract—
A new 10.4‐in.‐diagonal display with UXGA resolution (1600 H × 1200 V pixels) using low‐temperature polysilicon (poly‐Si) TFTs has been developed for notebook‐PC applications. The source drive technique uses integrated selector switches, which decreases the number of tape carrier packages (TCPs) for a poly‐Si TFT‐LCD and increases the connection pitch of the TCPs to the glass substrate. In this paper, we present a new display configuration and fabrication process.
We have developed 15-inch diagonal and UXGA resolution lowtemperature poly-Si TFT-LCD for the first time. We have developed a new dual-drive technique to overcome the decrease of the charging period and the increase of time-constant of buslines. The TFT-LCD has realized high display performance with photograph-grade images.
In this paper, we describe the development an UXGA Display system by using a trial Digital Packet Video(PV) Link for a nextgeneration interface(I/F). We already presented the basic idea and performance about this system. Then, we can apply this system for a QUXGA display, and then we can decrease the data transfer rate from PC to LCD. So we can solve the problem of I/F by this system, we propose the Digital PV Link as a standard for the next generation I/F of high density displays.
