New boundary conditions for the simulation of MSM structures with Schottky contacts at both ends are evaluated. They are based on the new integral equation for current density through an MSM structure where the quasi‐neutral approximation at the reference contact is avoided. While the reverse I–V characteristics are not affected, much better agreement between simulated and experimental characteristics is achieved in a wider range of forward applied voltages.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
