A large number of demosaicing methods using a directional or adaptive color correlation have been suggested. In such conventional demosaicing methods, however, there was a problem of artifacts on the edges of color boundaries. In the advanced demosaicing method we propose, demosaicing is carried out on the basis of the result obtained from the analysis of the changes of color signals in a local region. Compared with the conventional demosaicing method using simulation and real images from a CCD sensor, we confirmed the artifacts noise generated in the conventional method had been reduced in the advanced demosaicing method.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
