Dissociative electron attachment in effusive beams of S 2 has been studied in the incident electron energy range 0-11 eV. Two S − processes are observed at 2.4 and around 4.55 eV. From the ion kinetic energy and angular distributions, the symmetries of the dissociative S − 2 resonant states have been determined as 4 − u and 2 u . In the sulphur vapour S n (2 n 8), S − n formation occurs at zero energy and around 4 and 7.5 eV, in addition to the S − /S 2 processes.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
