Used here is the coupled finite-element state-space (CFE-SS) approach, based on the natural ABC flux-linkage frame of reference, to predict a salient-pole synchronous generator's parameters and performance, including damper bar currents and iron core losses, under open-circuit short-circuit impedance, and infinite bus load conditions. The full synergistic effects of space harmonics resulting from the magnetic circuit geometry, saliency, saturation, winding layouts, slotting, and time harmonics resulting from the nonsinusoidal armature currents and field as well as damper bar currents, are included in the simulations.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
