A system dynamics model of its R & D organization has been developed by Battelle-Northwest to serve as a basis for improved management planning and policy making. This model was designed to be applied in an interactive man-model environment. Thus far, the model has proven useful in forecasting future resource demands under various contingencies; and, importantly, it has improved management's understanding of the structure and dynamics of its organizational environment.
