The present discussion was intended to show that the only information on the Li breakup is contained in the deuteron cross sections and angular distributions, and that for the quantitative analysis of the o.-particle cross sections, more and complicated processes have to be assumed. It also indicates, unfortunately, that only limited information can be obtained from incomplete kinematical experiments. In particular, the origin of the protons has to be investigated carefully.
The gyromagnetic ratio of the 111-keV 2 + rotational state in tungsten-184 has been measured using the pulsed-beam technique. The precession of the Coulomb-excited nuclei in an external magnetic field has been detected by observing the de-excitation gamma radiation as a function of time. The value g=0.275 ±0.025 was found. The timing techniques which make possible an evaluation of the effect of target perturbations on the measurement are discussed. The mean life of the state was measured to be r = (1.85±0.03) X10" 9 sec, which is in agreement with other measurements.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
