A meso-scale numerical model is presented as a method to simulate the dynamic behaviours of high-strength concrete. A damage constitutive law is used to describe the evolution of damage under dynamic load. The dynamic analysis of concrete blocks is performed and the results are discussed. A critical strain rate is observed and the inertia of high-strength concrete plays a major role in the nature of the ensuing tensile-compressive stress-strain curves and tensilecompressive strength under high strain rates.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
