ObjectivesThe purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Yongyukjowitang(YJT) distillate on the immune activity of spleen cells of aged SD rats.
MethodsSpleen cells from 10w, 52w, 72w old rats were stimulated with Concanavalin A(Con A) and treated with Vitamin C(Vit.C) or Yongyukjowitang distillate(YJT). After 24 hours, levels of IL-2, IL-4, IL-10, IFN-γ were measured using ELISA in spleen cells. Results and Conclusions 1. The concentration of IL-2, IL-4 in spleen cells of 52 weeks old SD rats(YJT group) significantly decreased in comparison with ConA group. 2. The concentration of IFN-γ in spleen cells of 72 weeks old SD rats significantly increased in comparison with 10 weeks old SD rats(NT group), but decreased in comparison with 10 weeks old SD rats(YJT group). These results suggest that Yongyukjowitang distillate has an effect on the immune activity of spleen cells of aged SD rats.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of TAM (Taraxacum mongolicum) on Th2 cytokine production in MC/9 mast cells. 2. Methods The effects of TAM was analyzed by ELISA and Real-time PCR in MC/9 mast cells. Levels of IL-5, IL-13 were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays(ELISA). mRNA levels of IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-13 were analyzed with Real-time PCR. 3. Results 1) TAM inhibited the IL-4 production significantly in comparison to PI-control group at concentration of 50㎍/㎖, 100㎍/㎖, 200㎍/㎖. 2) TAM inhibited the IL-13 production significantly in comparison to PI-control group at concentration of 50㎍/㎖, 100㎍/㎖, 200㎍/㎖. 3) TAM inhibited the IL-4 mRNA expression significantly in comparison to PI-control group at concentration of 100㎍/㎖. 4) TAM inhibited the IL-5 mRNA expression significantly in comparison to PI-control group at concentration of 50㎍/㎖, 100㎍/㎖. 5) TAM inhibited the IL-6 mRNA expression significantly in comparison to PI-control group at concentration of 100㎍/㎖. 6) TAM inhibited the IL-13 mRNA expression significantly in comparison to PI-control group at concentration of 100㎍/㎖. 4. Conclusions These results indicate that TAM (Taraxacum mongolicum) has the effect of decreasing the Th2 cytokine production in the MC/9 mast cell.
ObjectivesThis study is about a "Taeumin" parkinson`s disease patient with bradykinesia, tremor, weakness and dysautonomia etc. In this case, we evaluated the effect of Yuldahanso-tang gagam for parkinson`s disease.
MethodsThis patient was treated by Sasang constitutional herbal medication based on Donguisusebowon . Acupuncture and west medications were used together. We evaluated the clinical progress through two methods, DITI(Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging) and VAS(Visual Analogue Scale).
ResultsDuring 11months treatment, chief complaints and symptoms of this patient were improved.
ConclusionsThis study shows that Yuldahanso-tang gagam is an effective treatment for "Taeumin" parkinson`s disease patients.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
