Abstract:Background: Chromoblastomyocosis is a slowly progressive cutaneous mycosis caused by dematiaceous naturally pigmented fungi. Literature shows case reports described sporadically, hence definite incidence is not known. More than eighty cases have been reported in Indian literature till date. Case: Here, we present a case of 74 year old male, who developed a chronic ulcer on foot following trauma. He was initially diagnosed as a case of cutaneous tuberculosis. Histopathology of the ulcer biopsy confirmed cutaneous chromoblastomycosis. Sclerotic bodies highlighted by special stains were seen. Conclusion:If not diagnosed earlier, chromoblastomycosis evolves slowly, causing varying problems.
