Every year, on Polish roads, many deaths occur. In the best case scenario, only the vehicle is damaged. The number of road accidents is extremely high. Road safety is mainly affected by the reckless behavior of pedestrians at street crossings. Undoubtedly, road safety is an important issue. The aim of this article is to analyze the behavior of pedestrians at crossings and to evaluate the function of pedestrian crossings. For this purpose, a questionnaire study was conducted, in which respondents were asked whether they take precautions and whether they use cell phones at pedestrian crossings. Moreover, an assessment was performed of the safety of a selection of pedestrian crossings: whether they are well lit, and whether the respondents have been involved in a traffic accident. From the analysis of the survey, it can be concluded that the number of pedestrians taking precautions at pedestrian crossings averaged 86.46%; 25.69% of the respondents admitted that they have used a cell phone at a pedestrian crossing. In addition, the survey confirmed that the most dangerous pedestrian crossings are those that do not have traffic lights. It was also found that those who have a driver's license should actually be more vigilant at pedestrian crossings when driving.
Every year, many people lose their health and/or lives on Polish roads. One of the reasons for this is behavior of pedestrians at pedestrian crossings, which affects the road safety. The aim of the article was to conduct experimental research, the idea of which was to study the behavior of pedestrians at pedestrian crossings in the city of Pila, the results of which can be applied to Poland. During the research, the behavior of pedestrians and the impact on the probability of a road accident were analyzed. Undoubtedly, the prevailing epidemic, during which people are in many respects limited, had an impact on the results obtained, therefore the number of people at the analyzed crossings may have decreased. The conducted research confirmed the Police statistical data that the most dangerous crossings for pedestrians are those without traffic lights.
Purchase of milk in the conditions of the worldwide coronavirus pandemic 2019-nCoV, causing COVID-19 disease, since the first months of 2020, has resulted in numerous changes in the organization of the processes of raw materials acquisition and distribution, their processing and sale, as well as information flows accompanying these processes. One of the areas which is to some extent subject to specific changes is the organisation of passenger and freight transport, including transport to processing plants for raw milk obtained from farmers. The solution proposed in the article was created on the basis of interviews conducted in the spring of 2020 with 25 farmers – milk producers. The solution assumes maximum limitation of direct contacts between carriers and farmers during collection of raw milk from farms, as well as improvement of the system of transferring information about the quality of raw material obtained from farms and receivables for the producer.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
