The COVID-19 pandemic changed our lives in many aspects. Prolonged lockdowns, strict hygienic rules and social distance caused a decrease in the number of circulating viruses. The study aimed to analyse how the COVID-19 pandemic influenced the number of hospitalisations of children due to rotavirus infections. We performed a retrospective analysis of the medical records of patients hospitalised with rotavirus (RV) diarrhoea (ICD-10 A08.0) in 2016-2021 at the Infectious Diseases Department in St Joseph Children Hospital in Poznan. The impact of the pandemic on the number of hospitalised patients, their age and length of stay in the hospital were assessed.
