Abstract.Juvenile diabetes mellitus is a major health problem which may present various physical, psychological, social and educational difficulties. This article illustrates the nature of this condition. Definition, incidence, etiology, clinical symptoms, and major later complications are briefly described. Psychological, social, and educational aspects of diabetes are discussed with recommendations for counselors.
