Abstract. This article deals with intermodal transport of chemical goods in Slovak republic. Analysis is based on information from interviews with companies and logistics service providers. The first part of the article describes importance of Intermodal transport and basic transport routes for intermodal transport. Respondents considered advantages and disadvantages of intermodal transport. Possible improvements inside companies and improvements of external framework conditions to promote modal shift are described in the second part of the paper.
This article deals with braking tests of semi-trailer truck in forward and rear driving direction. It compares the accelerations and angular velocities in the front and rear part of the semi-trailer and their influence on forces in lashing points when using front lashing. The paper also contains a comparison between forces reached in the lashing points at the rate of cargo weight between the braking tests of semi-trailer and similar braking tests of a van. The first part of the paper contains also possibilities of using tracking devices for detecting accelerations acting on cargo in semi-trailer during transport.
This article deals with benefits and problems of using GPS monitoring and Inland AIS, which is the part of river information services operating on Danube. It is based mainly on results and experience from monitoring of two pusher tugboats on Danube and Danube – Main – Rhine canal within the project Chemlog T&T. It also contains statistics of their navigation on particular Danube sections in up stream and down stream direction, such as transit durations between particular ports, proportion of speed in percentage in particular Danube sections and delays in lock chambers or in front of them.
