In this paper, we study how to improve the performance of an SC-FDMA cellular system by reusing frequency resources on a per-sector basis, in a tri-sectorized multi-cell scenario. We consider a typical cell-based Fractional Frequency Reuse (FFR) scheme as a reference, and we propose two novel sector-based Inter-Cell Interference Coordination (ICIC) schemes. Our simulations show that, in comparison to the cell-based proposals, our novel schemes succeed on increasing the supported traffic load, while guaranteeing the required level of Quality of Service (QoS) for real-time traffic.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
