Recent Móssbauer spectroscopy results on iron carbides formed by Fischer-Tropsch synthesis are discussed.For carbides with carbon in octahedral sites (named here 0 carbides), we show that V-Fe2,2C" and "e-Fe2C" really correspond to Fe2C and ~Fe2.2C, respectively. A departure from hexagonal symmetry of the C atom arrangement is deduced for ~Fe2C while the limiting compositions are Fe2 4±tl lC and Fe2C. Simple relations
Résumé -Notre étude expérimentale repose sur l'analyse enthalpique de la crlstallisatlon de quatorze alliages amorphes Fe(1 -x) Bx pour 0 , 1 2 5 5~< 0 , 2 5 . Nous montrons que ce système blen que hors d'équilibre présente les carac'eères de reverslbilité thermodynamique. Nous mettons en évidence l'existence d'un domaine biphasé issu du llquide surfondu figé au moment de la transition vitreuse. Nous calculons l'enthalpie libre de la phase liquide à partir d'informat~ons contenues dans le diagramme de phase et de certaines grandeurs de formation des phases solides.
