The effect of synthesis conditions such as carbon nanotube (CNT), 2,2,2-trifluoroethylmethacrylate (3FMA), and composition of organic-inorganic material in ozone resistance and surface characteristics of ultraviolet cured organicinorganic hybrid coating film has been investigated. Coating solution was prepared using tetraethoxysilane (TEOS), silane coupling agent methacryloyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (MPTMS), 3FMA, various organic materials with acrylate group, and CNT, then bar-coated on substrates using applicator, and densified by UV-curing. It was found that ozone resistance and adhesion of the coating film were strongly dependent upon contents of TEOS, 3FMA, and CNT. Especially, ozone resistance, adhesion, and surface hardness of coating film with CNT were improved, relatively. Ozone resistance of coating film with a high TEOS content was increased, but adhesion was decreased. In addition, it was also found that ozone resistance of coating film was increased with contents of 3FMA. On the other hand, surface hardness was decreased with increase of 3FMA.
To analyze the correlation between activity restriction due to fear of falling and mortality among Koreans aged ≥45 years.Methods: After excluding missing values, the data of 411 participants from the first to sixth waves of the Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging were analyzed using the χ 2 -test, log-rank tests and Cox proportional hazards model.
Results:In model 1, which did not include activity restriction due to fear of falling as an independent variable, the death rate increased by 1.024-fold (hazard ratio 1.024, 95% confidence interval 1.000-1.050, P = 0.0498) as the number of falls increased by one. In model 2, which included activity restriction due to fear of falling as an independent variable, participants with experience of activity restriction showed 1.993-fold higher mortality (hazard ratio 1.993, 95% confidence interval 1.112-3.572, P = 0.0205) than those without such experience. In addition, as the number of falls in the group with chronic diseases increased by one, the mortality rate increased by 1.028-fold (hazard ratio 1.028, 95% confidence interval 1.001-1.057, P = 0.043).Conclusions: There was a close relationship between activity restriction due to fear of falling and mortality. Therefore, this study can serve as the foundation for policies and institutional measures to reduce the mortality rate of groups with activity restrictions due to fear of falling.
Background: To explore the association between functional limitation due to subjective cognitive decline (SCD) and falling by focusing on exercise intensity in the Korean population aged 45 years and older. Study Design: The 2019 Korean Community Health Survey (KCHS) was used to analyze 35,387 people by applying individual weights imposed from the raw data. Methods: To analyze the association between functional limitation due to SCD and falling in the Korean population aged 45 years and older, weighted logistic regression analysis and weighted zero-inflated Poisson regression analysis were used. Results: In both the middle-aged group and the older adult group, the functional limitation due to SCD had a higher fall experience rate and more falls than the non-functional limitation due to SCD group. Additionally, the middle-aged group and the moderate or vigorous physical exercise (MVPE) group had a higher fall experience rate and number of falls than the non-MVPE group; however, the older adult group walking regularly and performing MVPE had a lower fall experience rate and number of falls than the non-exercise group. Conclusions: Active participation in exercise is encouraged and should lead to fewer falls in older adults. Furthermore, a group with functional limitations due to SCD should be provided with exercise guidelines and a community program and facilities that enable regular participation should be developed.
