Recent literature confirms that transtibial PCL reconstruction is a reliable and reproducible method to manage PCL injuries and results in satisfactory patient outcomes. However, there does not yet appear to be enough new, compelling information to conclusively determine an optimal method for surgical management. Our preferred method of management for operative PCL injuries is a single bundle transtibial PCL reconstruction, which is supported by the current body of literature. Future high-quality research studies are necessary to further guide treatment algorithms.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
