Dehydroxytrifluoromethylthiolation of alcohols with a PhPCFCO/S/F system is described. Difluorocarbene generated from PhPCFCO would readily combine with elemental sulfur to furnish S═CF. S═CF can be considered as a bifunctional intermediate, activating alcohol and providing scaffold for CFS formation, thus allowing for the convenient dehydroxytrifluoromethylthiolation of alcohols.
A new method has been developed for the Cu-catalyzed C-H trifluoromethylation of 3-arylprop-1-ynes for the selective construction of allenic Csp(2)-CF3 and propargyl Csp(3)-CF3 bonds. The selective formation of allenic Csp(2)-CF3 and propargyl Csp(3)-CF3 bonds can be controlled by modifying the reaction conditions.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
