In this paper, image fusion method based on a new class of wavelet — non-separable wavelet with compactly supported, linear phase, orthogonal and dilation matrix [Formula: see text] is presented. We first construct a non-separable wavelet filter bank. Using these filters, the images involved are decomposed into wavelet pyramids. Then the following fusion algorithm was proposed: for low-frequency part, the average value is selected for new pixel value, For the three high-frequency parts of each level, the standard deviation of each image patch over 3×3 window in the high-frequency sub-images is computed as activity measurement. If the standard deviation of the area 3×3 window is bigger than the standard deviation of the corresponding 3×3 window in the other high-frequency sub-image. The center pixel values of the area window that the weighted area energy is bigger are selected. Otherwise the weighted value of the pixel is computed. Then a new fused image is reconstructed. The performance of the method is evaluated using the entropy, cross-entropy, fusion symmetry, root mean square error and peak-to-peak signal-to-noise ratio. The experiment results show that the non-separable wavelet fusion method proposed in this paper is very close to the performance of the Haar separable wavelet fusion method.
A construction method of two channels non-separable wavelets filter bank which dilation matrix is [1, 1; 1, −1] and its application in the fusion of multi-spectral image are presented. Many 4×4 filter banks are designed. The multi-spectral image fusion algorithm based on this kind of wavelet is proposed. Using this filter bank, multi-resolution wavelet decomposition of the intensity of multi-spectral image and panchromatic image is performed, and the two low-frequency components of the intensity and the panchromatic image are merged by using a tradeoff parameter. The experiment results show that this method is good in the preservation of spectral quality and high spatial resolution information. Its performance in preserving spectral quality and high spatial information is better than the fusion method based on DWFT and IHS. When the parameter t is closed to 1, the fused image can obtain rich spectral information from the original MS image. This paper presents a novel curve based algorithm of stereo vision to reconstruct 3D line-like objects. B-spline approximations of 2D edge curves are selected as primitives for the reconstruction of their corresponding space curves so that, under the assumption of affine camera model, a 3D curve can be derived from reconstructing its control points according to the affine invariant property of B-Spline curves. The superiority of B-spline model in representing free-form curves gives good geometric properties of reconstruction results. Both theoretical analysis and experimental results demonstrate the validity of our approach.
