Convergent evidence supports a role for anterior prefrontal cortex (PFC) in metacognition—the capacity to evaluate cognitive processes—but whether metacognition relies on global or domain-specific substrates is unknown. Fleming et al. report that patients with anterior PFC lesions show impaired perceptual metacognition despite intact memory metacognition, supporting a domain-specific account.
Intense pulsed light (IPL) was used to sinter printed silver nanoink patterns consisting of 20-nm to 40-nm silver nanoparticles dispersed in diethylene glycol (DEG). Three consecutive pulses at 50 J/cm 2 in less than 30 ms was sufficient to adequately sinter silver nanoink patterns for printed electronics without degradation of the substrates. This is an exceptionally short time compared with that of the conventional thermal sintering process. On the sintered conductive silver patterns, neck-like junctions between nanoparticles were observed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The melting temperature, 194.1°C, of silver nanoparticles was found using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Also, x-ray diffraction (XRD) was used to find the grain size of the printed silver nanoink patterns. The IPL-sintered silver pattern had a grain size of 86.3 ± 7.2 nm. From this work, it was found that the IPL-sintered silver pattern had a low resistivity of 49 ± 3 nX m, which is low enough to be used for printed electronics.
ObjectivesThis study was to evaluate the performance of the newly developed information system (IS) implemented on July 1, 2014 at three public hospitals in Korea.MethodsUser satisfaction scores of twelve key performance indicators of six IS success factors based on the DeLone and McLean IS Success Model were utilized to evaluate IS performance before and after the newly developed system was introduced.ResultsAll scores increased after system introduction except for the completeness of medical records and impact on the clinical environment. The relationships among six IS factors were also analyzed to identify the important factors influencing three IS success factors (Intention to Use, User Satisfaction, and Net Benefits). All relationships were significant except for the relationships among Service Quality, Intention to Use, and Net Benefits.ConclusionsThe results suggest that hospitals should not only focus on systems and information quality; rather, they should also continuously improve service quality to improve user satisfaction and eventually reach full the potential of IS performance.
