Hydrogenated naphthalene derivatives
Hydrogenated naphthalene derivatives Q 1010Titanium-Mediated [2 + 2 + 2] Coupling of Diynes with Homoallylic Alcohols. -Isomerization-free coupling of diynes with homoallylic alcohols in the presence of a titanum alkoxide and a Grignard reagent is presented. Unlike titanium aryloxides, the titanium alkoxide-mediated cycloaddition requires the use of homoallylic alcohols as the olefin component. Alcohols (V), bearing longer tether than homoallylic alcohols, give lower yields of desired cycloadducts and additionally products derived from competitive 1,5-hydrogen shift. With secondary homoallylic alcohols, high 1,3-diastereoselectivity is observed. -(SUNG, M. J.; PANG, J.-H.; PARK, S.-B.; CHA*, J. K.;
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
