He is currently a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Rutgers University. His research interests include autonomous robotic systems, dynamic systems and control, mechatronics, automation science, and engineering, with applications to biomedical systems, civil infrastructure, and transportation systems. He is a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). He was a recipient of the 2010 U.S. NSF CAREER Award. He has coauthored papers that have been awarded several best papers in the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON AUTOMATION SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING, IEEE/ASME AIM, ASME DSCC, and IEEE ICRA. He also serves as a Senior Editor for the IEEE ROBOTICS AND AUTOMATION LETTERS and the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON AUTOMATION SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING, and as an Associate Editor for International Journal of Intelligent Robotics and Applications.
