A reader of a recent study by Warburton and Greeno is likely to form a gross misconception of the probability of forming very dissimilar groups when the randomization process is applied with small groups. This is due to a misapplication of elementary probability theory. The model they presented was, in part, justified by this erroneous approach. The other theoretical considerations motivating their analysis are not affected by this error.
