The diacetyl, dibenzoyl, and dinitroso derivatives' of dibenzyIhydrazine have been prepared. Also the dibenzoyl derivative' of 4-methyldibenzylhydrazine and the diacetyl derivative' of 2,4dimethyldibenz ylhydrazine. None of the corresponding diderivatives of 2,4, j-trimethyldibenzylhydrazine have been prepared. I n every trial a monoderivative of 2,4,5-trimethylbenzal-2,4, j-trimethylbenzylhydrazone was formed. I t is assumed that the symmetrical hydrazine was oxidized to the hydrazone according to the equation
