O ambiente TelEduc, um software livre, permite a criação, participação e administração de cursos na “Web”. Este ambiente tem sido amplamente divulgado e utilizado nos cursos de graduação da Universidade Estadual de Campinas. Este artigo descreve as ferramentas básicas do ambiente TelEduc, ilustra o seu uso em uma disciplina de graduação em engenharia e também oferece uma visão geral das iniciativas da Universidade Estadual de Campinas em educação a distância.

There is a growing understanding that privacy is an essential component of security. In order to decrease the probability of having data breaches, the design of information systems, processes and architectures should incorporate considerations related to both privacy and security. This incorporation may benefit from the offering of appropriate training. In this way, this paper intends to discuss how to better offer training while considering new developments that involve both multimedia production and the "gamification" of training. The paper suggests the use in conjunction of two frameworks: the EduPMO Framework, useful for the management of large scale projects that may involve a consortium of organizations developing multimedia for the offering of training, and the Game Development Framework, useful for the identification of the main components of the serious game for training on privacy by design to be developed as part of the training offering.

Engineering is seen today as a synonym of innovation, especially for providing technological solutions that affect not only daily work and entertainment, but education as well. Project portfolio management of multimedia production and use emerges today as a challenge both for the enrichment of traditional classroom based teaching and for distance education offering. In this way, this chapter intends to answer the following question: Which are the fundamental aspects to be considered in the management of projects on educational multimedia production and use? This research presents a proposal of a project management model for digital content production and use. The model, the methodology and the implementation will be named EduPMO, an abbreviation of Educational Project Management Office. Therefore, the model, the methodology, and the implementation should be understood as related but independent entities. This interdisciplinary investigation involves different topics, going from metadata and interoperability to intellectual property and process improvement.

Um Sistema de Informação Geográfica é um sistema voltado para manipulação, gerenciamento e visualização de dados geo-referenciados. Neste trabalho, pretende-se evidenciar como um professor do ensino médio poderia utilizar a tecnologia de Sistemas de Informação Geográfica em sala de aula, em um contexto de interdisciplinaridade, no qual seus alunos desenvolveriam em grupo um projeto que enfatizasse aspectos de matemática, geografia e informática. Tal proposta se baseia nos resultados obtidos em pesquisa recém concluída que culminou com o desenvolvimento de uma camada de interface denominada EComSIG. O objetivo do EComSIG é ocultar a complexidade inerente à modelagem de interfaces 3D para aplicações SIG e, ao mesmo tempo, sistematizar o processo de design de interfaces 3D para tais aplicações SIG. Tal sistematização viabiliza o uso educacional do EComSIG.
