Abstract in EnglishNorway’s Russia Policy under SøreideIne Eriksen Søreide was Norway’s Minister of Foreign Affairs during four of the seven years between the Russian annexation of Crimea in 2014 and the invasion of Ukraine in 2022. She had to develop the traditional Norwegian balancing act between rejection and accommodation under different conditions than those of her predecessors. Despite security challenges, worrying political developments internally in Russia and quite a few controversial incidents, the contact between the two countries gradually became more similar to what it had been before 2014. Søreide herself emphasised this when she resigned in 2021.
