Nickel-Catalyzed Carbonylation of α-KetoAlkynes under Phase Transfer Conditions. -α-Keto alkynes such as (I) and (V) are carboxylated in the presence of catalytic amounts of Ni(CN)2 under phase-transfer conditions to give either unsaturated hydroxylactones of type (III) and/or unsaturated keto acids such as (IV) and (VI) depending on the nature of the substituent of the alkynyl group. -(ARZOUMANIAN, H.; JEAN, M.; NUEL, D.; CABRERA, A.; GARCIA GUTIERREZ, J. L.; ROSAS, N.;
A novel catalytic synthesis of butyrolactones is studied. It is suggested that the reaction is catalyzed by a cyanonickel(II) species, which is regenerated via its oxidation with water. -(GARCIA GUTIERREZ*, J. L.; JIMENEZ-CRUZ, F.; ESPINOSA, N.
