This paper presents a design of a micro-robot driving platform that can perform two-dimensional motions on the horizontal plane using only one single vibration motor. This device uses the centrifugal force and the friction force between the horizontal supporting plane and the device as the driving force. The device has the advantages of simple structure, miniaturization and low cost and it is easy to hermetic seal. It could be used in the small space and the environment that requires good hermetic sealing performance of the device. In this paper, the dynamic analysis of the device is carried out and the experiment results verified the correctness of the analysis and the feasibility of the design above, and the motion of the device is proved controllable.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
