The emerging technological prospects affected many aspects, including consumer protection. The creation of data and computer-driven innovation would derive several advantages for consumers. Innovative products and services and new ways in which goods and services are developed and delivered. This paper aims to analyse how Indonesian legal policy on protection consumer rights in the digital era. The paper emphasized that it would advise against believing that policy is unreasonably permitted to give way to the technological agenda, whilst accepting that adaptations should be made and also that there should be a critical review of whether existing forms of regulation are needed in the digital economy of Indonesia. Regulations concerning to the protecting consumer rights in the world of e-commerce are still worrying even though many sectoral regulations have been promulgated, as well as weak supervision and lack of strict law enforcement in resolving consumer disputes. Trade regulation via the internet still raises many conceptual or theoretical questions that indicate the need to develop more detailed conceptual and theoretical explanations to the need for more complex laws and regulations to be able to protect consumers properly. More than that, national regulations are dealing with the context of trade through the internet, which transcends national boundaries without always being controlled through conventional means.
Penal mediation has been a longtime process of criminal settlement used in the Ngaju Dayak indigenous people in Kalimantan. They used the Belom Bahadat philosophy as a form of reform in the field of criminal procedural law stemmed from the politics of criminal law which makes customary law a part of national criminal law. This article is aimed to analyze the concepts of penal mediation in Indonesia and from the international law perspectives; and the settlement process with Belom Bahadat philosophy-based penal mediation in the Dayak indigenous community and its future use in the national criminal procedural law. This qualitative research applied a sociological juridical approach and utilized primary data obtained from interviews with Dayak traditional elders, secondary data comprising customary peace decisions obtained from Dayak customary institutions, and multidisciplinary approach from international law of penal mediation to uphold the strong concept of penal mediation. The results shown that restorative justice is one of the uniqueness in penal mediation internationally, especially in Germany, Spain, and Indonesia. Furthermore, the use of penal mediation in Dayak community is based on the 96 Articles of the Tumbang Anoi Peace Agreement that has existed since 1894. During a settlement, the penal mediation model applied in the Dayak people can be divided into the Victim Offender Mediation model, as well as Family and Community Group Conferences. Consequently, the formulation of this procedure is expected to be a study material in the renewal of criminal law legislation, specifically the Criminal Procedure law provisions in Indonesia.
Gen Z (Generation Z or Zoomers) is the social networking generation who ideally belong to the segment of school to college students or comparatively fresh entrant as manpower in organizations and are extremely online. This paper tries to outline the usage of social media by Generation Z during the pandemic where everything is done online. This paper brings forward how the futuristic Generation, Gen Z's use of social media which influences them as an individual's, organization and society. Also, it attempts to bring forward certain queries regarding the impact on privacy due to the lack of digital literacy while using social media. The theoretical frame of reference brought forward in this paper harvests a thorough set of investigation to raise the awareness of online privacy. Gen Z have shown their interest in using online social sites for communication and interactions with people, may it be the ones they know or anonymous. Online schooling due to the Covid-19 pandemic has been the main reason to the increasing usage of social media. However, in this process no attention is given on their privacy. This generation is a vigorous contributor, high consumer of online content, creative and mash-up experts. They have strong gravitational bond for online communication that they prefer to participate and remain connected via technology available at their fingertips.
Housing embodies many concepts such as comfort, security, identity and most importantly, housing is of central importance to the quality of life and health of everyone, with considerable economic, social, cultural and personal significance. However, housing in Ngepanrejo Village is different, where the main housing problem at the moment is the lack of affordable accommodation for the majority of the village community, who have low incomes. Therefore, most of the housing conditions fall into the criteria for uninhabitable houses. The community in Ngepanrejo Village is struggling to uphold good quality housing in various ways, one of which is by submitting a proposal for Uninhabitable Housing. qualitative research using data collection methods in the form of secondary data. The results of this study indicate that the proposal for uninhabitable houses do make a great impact to the standard of living of the Ngepanrejo community. Through each proposals submitted every year, there are about 10 houses renovated. If this trend continues, the objective proposed by the provincial government will be achieved at a fast rate. However, most proposals are found to be mismatch to the SIMPERUM and SIKDES which is caused by human errors. This have led the village government to create a lot letter of statements just to validate that the information is correct.
