The cultural and creative industries link the traditional knowledge to the ultimate consumer in their capacity to serve both cultural and economic objectives. In this regard, the cultural and creative industries can be seen as consistent with the sustainable development paradigm. Cultural industries cluster is playing an increasingly important role in the development of Chinese cultural industries. This article looks at the Cluster Development Strategy of Chinese Cultural Industries and tries to draw a map of cultural industries clusters in Beijing according to the data gathered from 19 cultural industries clusters in Beijing. With the clusters as a case study, we argue that in the course of development clusters are weak in production research and innovation, combined effect and public service although there is much achievement .At last, the suggestions to promote the sustainable development of cultural industries clusters will be discussed.
The 'experience' economy, characterizes by the growing needs for cultural identity and social empowerment, and aided by technologies of knowledge generation, information processing and communication of symbols, further reinforce this. The creative industries involve the concretization of an image, through whatever medium for some form of economic return. However, the nature of experience goods makes demand pattern unpredictable and production process difficult to control. The uncertainty of demand for the creative product, pose managerial and organizational challenges. The structure and staffing of creative projects are often temporary, as are capital investment. Success is dependent on the composition of projects teams with individuals and groups working in a highly interactive and adaptive fashioning of the product: Despite this fact, a great deal of research conducted in the area of group dynamics suggests that groups are often much less creative and productive than they are usually assumed. The important question of how to manage creative teams to achieve a high productivity with limited resources and time arises in innovation management both from the theoretical and practical points of view. The concept of a creative city is a post-industrial development strategy focused on urban economies. Based on this concept, many cities declared the importance of CI development as a sustainable urban development strategy. The long-term impact of CI development on the urban economy was not extensively studied. This study aims to explore the following research question: What are the critical factors that stimulate sustainable urban development through the development of creative industries (CI)? To answer this question, the case of the city of Vilnius was analyzed. Quantitative and qualitative research methods were used. For the quantitative analysis data, statistical data for the period 2009–2019 were analyzed. To gain a deeper understanding of the development factors of Vilnius’s CI, document analysis and interviews with Vilnius’s CI experts were conducted. Fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (FsQCA) was used to analyze the impact of factors on Vilnius’ CI growth.
Under the conditions of globalisation and rapid urbanisation small economies are facing the problem of sustainable regional development, especially in the regions with low population density. Historically, in order to overcome economic disparities in disadvantaged regions, national governments have been taking various strategies for the existing low-tech and cheap-labourbased industry stimulation. However, within open economies and human resource mobility these measures prove to be not sustainable in the long run unless they offer significant benefits associated with life quality. The rise of cultural and creative industries might offer such a complex solution in terms of occupations, cultural development, and variety of activities in the regions. Based on this, we aim to address the question: what factors are important for stimulation of sustainable regional development via cultural and creative
