Injectable Platelet rich fibrin (i-PRF) is a platelet concentrate that has been extensively used for multiple medical purposes and is a valuable adjunct for the regeneration of damaged tissues in surgical procedures. The enriched bioactive substances in i-PRF are responsible for speeding the wound healing process. Infection of biofilm producing bacteria in surgical wounds is becoming a serious threat. Research in this field is focused on new strategies to fight infections and to reduce the healing time. The present study was aimed to evaluate the in vitro antimicrobial and antibiofilm effects of i-PRF against oral pathogenic biofilm producing staphylococcus bacteria isolated from patient with dental and oral abscess. The antibacterial activity of i-PRF, was determined through broth microdilution as minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimal bactericidal concentration (MBC). i-PRF exhibited bactericidal activity against both non biofilm and biofilm producing bacteria. i-PRF could be potential antimicrobial peptide used to combat postoperative infections caused by biofilm producing staphylococcus.
Coronavirus Disease 19 (COVID-19) is a highly infectious viral disease affecting millions of people worldwide in 2020. Several studies have shown that COVID-19 results in a severe acute respiratory syndrome and may lead to death. In past research, a greater number of respiratory diseases has been caused by exposure to air pollution for long periods of time. This article investigates the spread of COVID-19 as a result of air pollution by applying linear regression in machine learning method based edge computing. The analysis in this investigation have been based on the death rates caused by COVID-19 as well as the region of death rates based on hazardous air pollution using data retrieved from the Copernicus Sentinel-5P satellite. The results obtained in the investigation prove that the mortality rate due to the spread of COVID-19 is 77% higher in areas with polluted air. This investigation also proves that COVID-19 severely affected 68% of the individuals who had been exposed to polluted air.
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to review the techniques for versatile advancements in contact tracing for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) positive cases in this pandemic and to introduce the way of using the mobile location information collected within the country India. As the method, an exploratory review of current measures was conducted for confirmed COVID-19 contact tracing after understanding the current situation of the world. This paper has examined the way of using free locational information in an innovative way to reduce the spread of COVID-19 spread.
Design/methodology/approach
COVID-19 pandemic is the utmost global economic and health challenge of the century. One powerful and consistent procedure to slow down the spread and decrease the effect of COVID-19 is to track the essential and auxiliary contacts of confirmed COVID-19 positive cases by using contact-tracing innovation.
Findings
Although it takes the information from various clients, there are numerous odds in the information. The sincere measures were taken by the authors to avoid the abuse of information by any kind. A portion of the tips for keeping information from getting abused is on the whole, the information ought to be with just higher specialists, and they ought not to have the authorization to impart information to anybody.
Originality/value
This paper helps to track the COVID-19 positive cases as of now by using the field information assortment and outbreak examination stages. At the same time, mobile location information used inside the current guideline, rules for information handlers must incorporate measures to reduce the abusing of information.
Pain control during and after any surgical procedure, is extremely essential for the comfort of patients. Pain killers used routinely act by inhibiting cyclooxygenase to control pain and inflammation. Cox-1 is constitutively expressed in most cell types, including platelets, whereas Cox-2 is absent from most healthy tissues but is induced by pro-inflammatory or proliferative stimuli. Cox-1 plays a role in the production of prostaglandins involved in protection of the gastric mucosal layer and thromboxanes (TX) in platelets. Cox-2 generally mediates elevations of prostaglandins associated with inflammation, pain, and pyresis. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin and ibuprofen are generally nonselective inhibitors of Coxs. This lack of selectivity has been linked to their propensity to cause gastrointestinal side effects. The new Cox-2 selective inhibitors, or coxibs, show the same anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects as nonselective NSAIDs but are supposed to have reduced side-effect profiles. This study evaluates whether rofecoxib (50 mg) given one hour pre-operatively or the same drug given one hour post-operatively is more effective in controlling the pain and swelling in mandibular third molar surgery.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
