Although precise analytical methods for studying transformer performance, such as iron loss, copper loss and stray loss, are complicated, the finite element method (FEM) proved to be a potential tool for analyzing this subject. This study illustrated that transformer parameters, such as core shape, air-gap length and core type, significantly affected transformer performances. Furthermore, the 2D and 3D finite element analysis provided understandable visual for transformer designers.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
