In the absence of experimental data, models of complex chemical environments rely on predicted reaction properties. Astrochemistry models, for example, typically adopt variants of capture theory to estimate the reactivity...
RE: Eu, Dy, Sm and Pr) Phosphors. -Microcrystalline Sr 2ZnWO6:Ln 3+ (Ln: Eu, Dy, Sm, Pr) phosphors are prepared by solid state reaction of stoichiometric mixtures of SrCO 3, ZnO, H2WO4, and Ln2O3 in air (1250 C, 4 h). The Eu 3+ and Dy 3+ -doped phosphors show intense red (616 nm) and yellow (574 nm) emissions, resp., indicating that the rare earth ions are substituted at non-centrosymmetric sites of the host lattice. Near white (Dy 3+ ) and reddish-orange (Sm 3+ ) emissions show strong host absorption and energy transfer from the host to the dopant. The Pr 3+ -doped phosphor shows a series of emission peaks in the visible region with the most intense in the blue region at 491 and 499 nm. -(DABRE, K. V.; PARK, K.; DHOBLE*, S. J.; J. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
