Reductive cyclization of enynes and diynes by using H 2 gas as a reductant was realized, and the corresponding cyclized products were obtained in good yields without olefin isomerization and over-reduction of the products. By an experiment using D 2 instead of H 2 , it was confirmed that H 2 unambiguously operates as a reductant in this reaction. The protocol of the reaction is very economical and user-friendly, using air-and moisture-stable CoBr 2 • 6H 2 O and 1 atm of pressure of H 2 .
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
