Hundreds ofadjunctfacttftyin four-year colleges and universities teach over45% ofthe courses, especially in the general education programs, but fiw institutions havechosen to construct adjunctfacultydevelopmentprograms that integrate these faculty into the instructional community. Metropolitan State College ofDenver, recipient ofa Title /II grant to build an adjunct development program received a TIA-CREFHesburgh AwardofExcellence in 2001 for itsinnovative adjunctsupport activities. This chapter articulates thefiatures ofthis successfulprogram and its effict on the adjunctfaculty cohort at the college.
