ResumenDesde mediados de la década de 1990, se ha perfilado, en el marco de los estudios sobre migraciones en España, una importante línea de trabajo que pretende dar cuenta de los procesos de construcción social del «inmigrante» en tanto que figura social de la alteridad. En este artículo, y desde una perspectiva construccionista y dinamista, hacemos un alto en el camino con el objeto de re-pensar cómo se está estudiando la construcción social de las alteridades vinculadas a las contemporáneas situaciones migratorias, y, tras constatar que, en dichos estudios, predomina lo que se ha dado en llamar una «gramática orientalista», apostamos por una complejización de las estrategias explicativas de los procesos identitarios, o de sus correlatos, los alteritarios. Among us… Or the need to rethink the construction of otherness in migratory contextsSince the mid 90's, we are attending within the field of the studies on migrations in Spain, to the development of an important line of research that seeks to explain the social construction process of the «migrant» as a social figure of otherness. By embracing a constructionist and dynamist perspective, this article makes halt for re-thinking the manner in which the social construction of the otherness which is linked to the contemporaneous context of migration has been studied, and after observing that in such studies an Orientalist grammar is predominant, we are in favour for rendering the explanatory strategies of the process of identity or its correlates, the process of otherness more complex.
