In order to develop a zinc recovery process from zinc-bearing dusts generated from ironmaking and steelmaking plants, fundamental A circulating fiuidized bed process has been investigated to treat dusts from steelworks.10) A zinc smelting process using zinc oxide or sulfide ores has been developed and commercialized in the non-ferrous metallurgical industry.11) However, it seems to be impossible to introduce this process into steelworks for treatment of zinc-bearing dust due to the low zinc concentration. The purpose of the present study is to develop a zinc condensation process from zinc-bearing dusts generated in steelworks, by use of sensible heat of hot metal.
2.Properties of Zinc-bearing Dusts Generated from lronmaking and Steelmaking Plants Zinc-bearing dusts are generated from ironmaking and steelmaking plants in steelworks. Figure I shows
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
