RESUMENLa tiroides lingual es una alteración poco común, que ocurre por una alteración en el descenso normal de la glándula tiroides desde la base de la lengua hasta su ubicación natural durante la etapa embrionaria. El diagnóstico es básicamente clínico, debiendo complementarse con estudios de imágenes. En el presente artículo se presenta un caso de tiroides lingual y una revisión de la literatura. A PROPOS OF A CASE SUMMARYLingual thyroid is an usual disease due to abnormal descent of the thyroid gland from the base of the tongue to its natural location during the embryonic stage. Diagnosis is mainly clinical complemented by image studies. This paper presents a case of lingual thyroid and literature review.
