We developed the ultra‐thin and stretchable LCD using the deformable polarizer. The LCD has substrate‐less structure formed by direct coating of silver nanowire electrode on the polarizer. The total thickness of the LCD is 23μm and it achieved excellent bending and stretching performances.

We developed ultra‐thin flexible LCD using novel deformable polarizer. The LCD was developed by integrating optically isotropic LCs coated directly on a single substrate with bendable silver nano‐wire electrodes and 10µm deformable polarizers. Consequently, we achieved ultra‐thin structure of 60µm and excellent bending performance with 1mm radius of curvature.
