BackgroundPeriodontal disease is common among adults and is associated with an increasing risk of chronic kidney disease (CKD). We aimed to investigate the prevalence and risk factors of CKD in patients with periodontal disease in China.MethodsIn the current cross-sectional study, patients with periodontal disease were included from Guangdong Provincial Stomatological Hospital between March 2011 and August 2011. CKD was defined as estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) <60 mL/min/1.73 m2, the presence of albuminuria, or hematuria. All patients with periodontal disease underwent a periodontal examination, including periodontal probing pocket depth, gingival recession, and clinical attachment level by Florida Probe. They completed a questionnaire and had blood and urine samples taken. The adjusted prevalence of indicators of kidney damage was calculated and risk factors associated with CKD were analyzed.ResultsA total of 1392 patients with periodontal disease were invited to participate this study and 1268 completed the survey and examination. After adjusting for age and sex, the prevalence of reduced eGFR, albuminuria, and hematuria was 2.7% (95% CI 1.7–3.7), 6.7% (95% CI 5.5–8.1) and 10.9% (95% CI 9.2–12.5), respectively. The adjusted prevalence of CKD was 18.2% (95% CI 16.2–20.3). Age, male, diabetes, hypertension, history of CKD, hyperuricemia, and interleukin-6 levels (≥7.54 ng/L) were independent risk factors for reduced eGFR. To overcome the defect of Teaching-Learning-based Optimization (TLBO) that it converges to the global optima with a relative slow speed, a modified Teaching-Learning-based Optimization (mTLBO) is proposed to enhance the convergence rate of TLBO. Then, the updation equation of rooster of Chicken Swarm Optimization (CSO) is improved to obtain modified Chicken Swarm Optimization (mCSO) to boost the global exploring capacity of CSO. Moreover, mTLBO and mCSO are hybridized to produce mTLBO-mCSO to get a comprehensive capability of fast searching and global exploring. Above all, relevant simulations are conducted using seven unimodal benchmark functions and six multimodal benchmark functions and related analyses are given for them. The simulation results reveal that mTLBO-mCSO works better or at least equal to basic algorithms for the vast majority of test functions and worse in extremely few cases.
To improve the precision and reduce the movement uncertainty of the industrial robot, a novel hybrid optimization algorithm which combines adaptive genetic algorithm with simulated annealing algorithm is proposed in this article. First, for the sake of increasing the global exploring ability of relevant individuals, the adaptive crossover and mutation operator are used in the phase of adaptive genetic algorithm. If the population optimized by adaptive genetic algorithm is trapped in the local optimal area and simultaneously meets the transformation rule, then it is consequently optimized by simulated annealing to enhance the population diversity and hunt for a better solution so that the probability of finding the global optimal solution is greatly increased. Then, corresponding experiments based on single point repeatability are conducted to acquire data and identify the structural parameters of the industrial robot. Moreover, the single point repeatability test and length test are all implemented at the same time to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. At last, the result reveals that the proposed method is effective to identify the real structural parameters of the industrial robot, thus enormously decreasing the single point repeatability and length deviation at the same time, which extremely increases the precision and decreases the movement uncertainty of the industrial robot.
