Rubbing between the IOL optic and iris seems to contribute to the high flare counts in eyes with a sulcus-to-sulcus IOL fixation. A larger haptic angle may be needed to prevent contact between the iris and IOL optic in such cases.

Our results show the importance of careful follow-up of intraocular pressure after pars plana lensectomy for congenital cataract, especially when microcornea (or microphthalmos) is present.

The central cornea of congenital cataract-extracted eyes was significantly thicker than that of controls.
